JERSEY CITY, NJ – Congressman Rob Menendez on July 6 released the following statement after the announcement of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s $6.9 billion grant for the Gateway Program which will significantly contribute to funding the new Hudson Tunnel.
“The announcement of $6.9 billion in funding for the Hudson Tunnel Project is a historic milestone for the Eighth Congressional District as it is the largest ever mass transit grant in U.S. history. Further, this funding signals the never-ending commitment and resolve of New Jersey’s Congressional Delegation, our state partners, and the Biden Administration to completing this critical infrastructure project for New Jersey families. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will continue working to accelerate and deliver the transformative Gateway Program for our residents and our country.”
