Rep. Rob Menendez, representing New Jersey's 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has shared his thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Menendez, who succeeded Albio Sires, was born in Hudson County, New Jersey, and currently resides in Jersey City. He is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Rutgers University-Newark.
On February 18, 2025, Rep. Menendez commented on Presidents Day activities: "Today is Presidents Day. And while our current President prefers ceremonial activities like attending the Super Bowl and Daytona, in his place he trusts an immigrant from South Africa to run the country and the son of immigrants to do our foreign policy. Looks like immigrants…"
The following day, February 19, 2025, Menendez emphasized the importance of cybersecurity during a visit to Hudson County Community College: "Now more than ever, we must protect our data and strengthen cybersecurity. I was glad to visit @HudsonCCC, sit in on their Database Design class and meet the next generation of cybersecurity leaders."
Later that day, Menendez addressed concerns about Medicaid funding: "Medicaid is a lifeline for thousands, including cancer patients. With funding at risk—not just for Medicaid but also for the @NIH—we must take action. Grateful to meet Evelyn, Volunteer Lead Ambassador for @ACSCAN, fighting for lifesaving care."
