Tonna Ogina competes at NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Tonna Ogina represented New Jersey City University at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 25 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Ogina competed in the women’s high jump event, facing a field of 22 athletes. She finished with a no-height result after opening at 1.59 meters.

Despite not recording a height, Ogina became the first Gothic Knight to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships since Deseria Sanders advanced in the long jump in 2009.

Ogina concluded her outdoor collegiate career with several honors, including All-New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team recognition and Honorable Mention status. She also won NJAC championships in both the high jump and triple jump and was selected to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region Team. Additionally, she earned NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honors twice during her career.
