Rep. Rob Menendez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 8th district, has taken to social media to express his views on recent political actions and the state of the Republican Party. Menendez, who succeeded Albio Sires in 2023, is known for his strong opinions on legal and political matters.

In a tweet dated March 25, 2025, Menendez criticized Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for his litigious approach against the Biden Administration. He referenced Sen. Ted Cruz's remarks about Republican Attorneys General, stating "Texas AG Paxton even 'celebrated' having filed his 100th lawsuit against the Biden Administration. Sen. Cruz said of GOP AGs 'their work is important and much needed.'"

On the same day, Menendez issued another statement urging caution regarding former President Donald Trump and the GOP's strategies towards judicial processes. He asserted that "Bottom line: don’t buy Trump and the GOP’s BS. The courts are an essential check on power - even when we disagree with their rulings." He emphasized that Trump's actions were not typical and committed to maintaining judicial checks.

Additionally, Menendez commented on changes within the Republican Party concerning its allegiance to Trump and potential threats to judicial independence. He noted "So what has changed? The Republican Party is COMPLETELY beholden to Trump and his attempt to upend the rule of law." Highlighting concerns over impeachment threats against judges by Republicans, he assured continued opposition to such measures.
