Rep. Rob Menendez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 8th district, recently expressed his concerns through a series of tweets regarding actions taken by the administration and their implications on citizens and communities. Menendez, who succeeded Albio Sires in 2023, highlighted critical issues he perceives as pressing for the nation.

On March 18, 2025, Rep. Menendez shared an incident involving the deportation of a young citizen with severe health challenges. He stated: "Last week, the Administration deported a 10-year-old U.S. CITIZEN diagnosed with BRAIN CANCER with her family in Texas while they were on their way to receive medical care."

In another tweet posted on the same day, Menendez urged action from the public during what he described as a challenging period in American history. He wrote: "So let’s not be silent in this moment. Let’s make our voices heard. Let’s protect those who are the most fearful in this dark time in our country’s history. The stakes are too high and there’s no way I’m backing down from this fight."

Further addressing broader societal impacts, Menendez criticized former President Trump's policies for targeting integral community members: "Trump is targeting the people who go to our churches, go to school with our children and work alongside each of us to build a better future for our families AND our country."
