Beginning Friday, August 26, the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority (JCMUA) will conduct 24/7 emergency repair work on Route 440 to replace 100-year old sewer pipes. Construction will take 14 days pending weather. Please prepare for road closures and subsequent traffic delays in the following areas:
• Northbound Rt. 440 between Rt. 185 to Danforth Avenue (7 days)
• Southbound Rt. 440 between Communipaw Avenue to Danforth Avenue (14 days)
The following construction dates are tentative due to the nature of the project and potential weather, and subject to change:
• August 26 - September 1: All northbound Rt. 440 lanes will be closed for approximately 7 days.
