New Jersey City University issued the following announcement.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | New Jersey City University (NJCU)’s Institute for Dispute Resolution (IDR) and its Connecting Bridges and Borders Program, will co-host day one of a special two-day conference entitled “Explore NJ: Endless Possibilities for Your Business” on Thursday, June 23. The event will be held at the NJCU School of Business, located at 200 Hudson Street in Jersey City, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The theme of NJCU’s opening day program is “Focus on New Jersey’s Financial & Supply Chain Industries.”

The two-day conference is a result of a partnership with The Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), ChooseNJ, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), and Rutgers Business School.

Following a networking breakfast, NJCU President Sue Henderson, Tim Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer of the NJEDA, and Wesley Mathews, President and CEO of ChooseNJ, and other special guests will offer remarks.

Professor David Weiss — the founder and director of NJCU’s IDR said: “Explore NJ is an opportunity for New Jersey to showcase its business assets — including academic programs — which support our competitive advantage in our state. NJCU offers important and necessary degrees in industries our state utilizes to attract foreign business to New Jersey, including, but not limited to supply chain and logistics, and Fintech.”

“ExploreNJ is the outcome of a collaboration between CIANJ, ChooseNJ, Select USA under the US Department of Commerce and the Office of the Governor — together with the IDR’s well-established Connecting Bridges and Borders program.”

The program will include discussions on New Jersey’s Supply Chain & Logistics Industries — moderated by Erica Brieterman, the NJEDA’s Sector Lead for Transportation and Logistics — and New Jersey’s Financial Technical Services (FinTech), and will conclude with a networking lunch.

NJCU students who wish to register should contact Dr. Michael Arbitblit at marbitblit@njcu.edu. The general registration link is https://web.cianj.org/atlas/events/explorenj2022%20%20investor%20registration%20only-976/register.

Weiss added “Since being established in 2015, the IDR and its Connecting Bridges and Borders Program have fostered trade for New Jersey as one of its missions. The program focuses on the important contributions NJCU makes to advance globalization from the academic perspective. This has been highlighted recently with the important work our sister institute, NJCU’s Guarini Institute for International Education and Economic Mobility, has produced with international partnerships.”

This is a great opportunity to meet international firms and establish relationships that could lead to new business. Limited speaking opportunities are available along with sponsorships. Showcase your company!

Meanwhile, the first 10 NJCU students who pre-register with the IDR will be able to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with companies from all over the world who want to do business in New Jersey, who are seeking to hire talent.

Day two of the conference will be held on Friday, June 24 at Rutgers University’s Zimmerli Art Museum, located at 71 Hamilton Street in New Brunswick, N.J.

About NJCU:

New Jersey City University is an institution of higher learning with an audacious goal: the development of our students, our city, our communities, our state, and the world beyond. We are a game-changing force for our students and their families. Whether our students are enrolled in one of our 50 undergraduate, 30 graduate or three doctoral programs at our three locations — our main campus in Jersey City, our School of Business located in the heart of the Jersey City Financial District, or our newest location at NJCU @ Fort Monmouth which expands bachelor's and master's degree offerings along the Jersey Shore, NJCU provides an affordable, diverse environment, and an exceptionally supportive faculty—all of which prepares them to be critical thinkers in a global landscape.

We’re also changing the game for our city, our communities, and our state. As the educational anchor institution in Jersey City, we’ve established partnerships to ensure the area’s growth directly benefits our students and community members. We seek to improve the lives of everyone in the Garden State, whether creating a home for the arts, bringing educational programs to K-12 students, offering bachelor’s degrees in partnership with community colleges, or providing professional development opportunities for adults.

At NJCU, we’re not just educating minds, we’re nourishing souls and lifting communities. We’re changing the place.
