Rep. Rob Menendez, who represents New Jersey’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues on his social media account, ranging from legislative responsibilities to community safety and immigration enforcement.
On September 5, 2025, Menendez questioned the commitment of House Republicans to the legislative process. In a post, he stated: “I came to Congress to get things done and deliver results for our constituents every single day. My question to House Republicans is: if you don’t believe in Congress, or in making laws to improve people’s lives, what are you doing here? @HouseDemocrats will continue”.
Later that same day, Menendez expressed appreciation for local law enforcement following a violent incident in Jersey City. He wrote: “Always grateful – and especially today – for the bravery of the @JerseyCityPD officers who put their lives on the line to keep our community safe. As we learn additional details about this shocking act of violence, our team is ready to assist our city and state partners in any”.
Addressing national immigration policy on September 6, 2025, Menendez criticized actions taken by federal authorities. He posted: “The Trump Admin just carried out a massive ICE raid in Georgia. And let’s be clear: this is no longer about dangerous criminals. This is about ripping communities & families apart. @HouseDemocrats will continue the fight to ensure due process & press back against this unlawful”.
Rob Menendez began serving as a U.S. Congressman for New Jersey’s 8th district after succeeding Albio Sires in 2023 (https://ballotpedia.org/Rob_Menendez).
