On December 12, 2024, Rep. Menendez celebrated the achievements of Sharada’s app, EcoTag, which promotes sustainable fashion by helping users calculate the environmental impact of their clothing choices. He expressed his support for eco-friendly initiatives by stating “Empowering eco-conscious choices is key to a sustainable future! That’s exactly what Sharada’s app, EcoTag, does by helping users calculate the environmental impact of their clothing and promoting eco-friendly fashion.”
The following day, December 13, 2024, he congratulated Sarah from McNair Academic High School for her creation of EcoBridge. This app assists immigrants with translation services and access to food and community engagement tools. Rep. Menendez remarked on the importance of technology serving community needs by saying “When tech serves the community, everyone wins.”
Later that same day, Rep. Menendez reflected on the two-year anniversary of the Respect for Marriage Act becoming law. He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights as a member of the Equality Caucus with his statement: “Love and dignity are rights for every American, no matter who they love.”
