Rep. Rob Menendez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 8th District, has been active on social media, addressing various issues from youth achievements to healthcare and labor rights. His recent posts reflect his engagement with both local community matters and broader national policies.
On February 12, 2025, Rep. Menendez expressed pride in the younger generation’s willingness to serve the country. He shared a personal moment where he informed a high school senior from North Bergen of his acceptance into West Point Military Academy. “With all the challenges we face as a nation, it fills me with pride to see the youth in our community eager to serve our country. Today, I had the honor of calling a high school senior from @NB07047 to share the exciting news—he’s been accepted to @WestPoint_USMA!”
Later that day, Rep. Menendez criticized Republican efforts concerning Medicaid policy changes. He highlighted the potential impact on vulnerable populations within his district, stating that more than 80,000 children and 21,000 seniors rely on Medicaid for health coverage. “As we thought they would, Republicans are coming after Medicaid – cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans by cutting healthcare for the most vulnerable.”
On February 13, 2025, Menendez addressed labor rights concerns following President Trump’s dismissal of NLRB Board Member Gwynne Wilcox. He argued that this action undermines labor law enforcement and joined efforts demanding her reinstatement to ensure workers’ rights are protected by a fair National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). “Trump firing @NLRB Board Member Gwynne Wilcox is illegal & weakens labor law enforcement, leaving workers vulnerable.”
