U.S. Representative Rob Menendez, who serves New Jersey’s 8th district, posted a series of tweets on February 12, 2026, addressing issues related to federal immigration enforcement, data privacy, and criticism of support for former President Trump.
In his first tweet at 13:55 UTC, Menendez wrote: “What’s dangerous and backwards is your ‘undying support’ for Trump, even when it hurts New Jerseyans – from voting for historic cuts to Medicaid to your silence on Gateway. We’re with @GovSherrillNJ on holding ICE accountable and delivering for New Jersey because you never https://t.co/beorSHSthD”.
Shortly after, at 13:56 UTC, he posted: “Your private information is now not only less secure, but it’s being weaponized against our neighbors by the IRS. @HouseDemocrats will fight this until our confidential tax records are secure and ICE no longer exists. (PS the Trump Administration is admitting that immigrants DO https://t.co/h1t0UEpO1b”.
Later in the day at 15:35 UTC, Menendez addressed concerns about Palantir Technologies’ relationship with federal agencies: “If you work at Palantir and want to know about how your company supports federal immigration enforcement, you have to sign an NDA. That’s telling. Instead of answers, employees have to sign confidentiality agreements for information on how their employer is empowering ICE. https://t.co/BL5Y9p7rRg”.
Rob Menendez has represented New Jersey’s 8th district in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Albio Sires. Born in Hudson County in 1985 and currently residing in Jersey City, Menendez earned a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and a JD from Rutgers University-Newark in 2011.
