In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Menendez highlighted the importance of support and awareness. On May 13, he posted: “During #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, know you are never alone.
Later that day, Menendez commented on ongoing immigration enforcement policy debates in New Jersey. He wrote on May 13: “I was in Newark ahead of the Roxbury hearing yesterday and one thing remains true: ICE’s plan for a ICE warehouse in Roxbury runs counter to our state’s values and we’ve led the fight against it from day one.

Addressing congressional oversight issues later that afternoon, Menendez referenced previous challenges faced by lawmakers attempting to visit detention facilities. He stated on May 13: “The Trump Admin tried to prevent us from entering Delaney Hall a year ago but they couldn’t stop us then & they can’t stop us now.
Rob Menendez has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after succeeding Albio Sires as representative for New Jersey’s 8th district. Born in Hudson County in 1985 and currently residing in Jersey City, Menendez holds degrees from both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Rutgers University-Newark.
