Rep. Rob Menendez, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 8th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on social media addressing immigration enforcement actions, public infrastructure projects, and political discourse in Congress.
On February 15, 2026, Menendez criticized the conduct of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing, “Conducting a raid in front of dozens of children is dangerous, reckless and emblematic of what ICE has been doing across our country. It should outrage every American. We will hold the Trump Administration and ICE accountable for all the harm they are causing our communities – https://t.co/E5q97OgwVV”.
Later that day, he informed constituents about upcoming transportation disruptions due to rail construction: ” ATTN: Construction to connect rail lines to the new North Bridge starts today. Until 3/15, fewer trains will be operating so please plan accordingly. Visit https://t.co/CDmLiDtGZT to see how you may be impacted. Delays are bad but this is part of the long-term plan to make https://t.co/2lPU9gIXdK” (February 15, 2026).
On February 16, 2026, Menendez addressed Speaker Johnson regarding rhetoric within Congress: “This is what it looks like when Islamophobia and outrage are the only two items on your political agenda. @SpeakerJohnson, a member of your conference is consistently making hateful, dangerous statements. As a Christian, are you not obligated to love all your neighbors and https://t.co/j8thwlSw3d”.
Rob Menendez was born in Hudson County, New Jersey in 1985 and currently resides in Jersey City. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and received his law degree from Rutgers University-Newark in 2011.
