U.S. Representative Rob Menendez, who has represented New Jersey’s 8th District since 2023, recently addressed several policy and community issues in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On September 22, 2025, Menendez criticized the Trump administration’s actions regarding digital equity funding, stating: “The Trump Admin cut over $2B from the Digital Equity Act, denying seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, the tools they need to thrive. @HouseDemocrats will keep fighting to expand access to broadband and to hold this Admin accountable.”
Two days later, on September 23, 2025, Menendez extended holiday greetings for Rosh Hashanah: “Shana Tova to our Jewish friends and neighbors in New Jersey and beyond! Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Rosh Hashanah filled with peace, prosperity, and good health.”
Later that same day, he addressed environmental concerns related to federal policy changes: “Families in New Jersey see the effects of climate change every day. That’s why we took action when the EPA announced that they planned to rescind the Endangerment Finding, which forms the bedrock of the agency’s work to protect our communities against the effects of climate.”
Menendez was born in Hudson County in 1985 and currently resides in Jersey City. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and a law degree from Rutgers University-Newark in 2011. Before his election to Congress following Albio Sires’ retirement in 2023, Menendez established his roots within New Jersey’s political landscape.
The Digital Equity Act is designed to promote affordable broadband access across communities. The Endangerment Finding is a key legal determination by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enabling regulation of greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.
