Red Bull New York announced on May 23 their starting lineup for the upcoming New York Derby against New York City FC, set to take place Saturday night at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
The match is significant as it continues the rivalry between the two clubs. The Red Bulls have achieved a 12-5-2 record at home against NYCFC across all competitions in franchise history.
Head Coach Michael Bradley will field Dylan Nealis, Justin Che, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, and Matthew Dos Santos along the backline. Emil Forsberg will captain the team from midfield alongside Adri Mehmeti and Ronald Donkor. Julian Hall leads the attack with Jorge Ruvalcaba and Cade Cowell on the wings. Hall recently scored his first career hat trick in a 3-2 win over Columbus, becoming the youngest player in Major League Soccer history to achieve this feat at 18 years and 50 days old. He now has nine goals this season, tied for fourth-most in MLS. Ethan Horvath starts as goalkeeper.
On the bench, available substitutes include Julian Bazan—making his first appearance on a matchday roster since joining—Nehuen Benedetti, Gustav Berggren, John McCarthy, Roald Mitchell, Rafael Mosquera, Tim Parker, Mohammed Sofo and Omar Valencia. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and A.J. Marcucci remain sidelined due to injury.
Coverage of the game begins at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Apple TV with Steve Cangialosi providing play-by-play commentary alongside Danny Higginbotham for English-language coverage; Bruno Vain will handle Spanish-language play-by-play with Andres Agulla as analyst.
