The New Jersey City University (NJCU) women’s cross country team began its 2025 season with a fourth-place finish at the Caldwell Cougar Chase 5K, held at Garrett Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park, New Jersey. The event took place on Friday, September 26, and featured six teams.
Senior Raven Orange led NJCU in her first collegiate 5K race, finishing in 12th place with a time of 26:51.10. Fifth-year runner Reyanna Henderson followed closely behind, securing 13th place by completing the course in 26:51.40.
Junior Jaeda Figueroa and freshman Kiona Webber both made their collegiate debuts at the event, placing 24th and 25th respectively with times of 30:49.80 and 30:51.60. Senior Evelyn Wymer contributed to the team’s score by finishing in 26th place and setting a personal-best time of 31:09.10.
Junior Na’tori Postell also participated in her first collegiate cross country race for NJCU, finishing in 40th place with a time of 39:24.60.
The Gothic Knights will compete next at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 4. The race is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
