Hudson Regional Health has announced a $75 million to $100 million investment plan to upgrade its hospital facilities across Hudson County. The network, which is the largest in Hudson County and among the fastest-growing in New Jersey, is undertaking significant renovations at its locations in Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City, and Secaucus. These upgrades will include improvements in services, technology, and infrastructure.

As part of these changes, each hospital will receive a new name reflecting their unified network identity: Bayonne University Hospital (formerly Bayonne Medical Center), The Heights University Hospital in Jersey City (formerly Christ Hospital), Hoboken University Hospital (formerly Hoboken University Medical Center), and Secaucus University Hospital (formerly Hudson Regional Hospital).

Since acquiring these hospitals, Hudson Regional Health has reopened key service lines that had previously been closed. For example, Jersey City now offers a Cardiac Catheterization Lab for STEMI and neuro cases as well as a Sleep Center. In Hoboken, an Infusion Center and Robotic Surgery are now available. Bayonne has launched Radiation Oncology services. A Mobile Health Clinic was also introduced to meet urgent community health needs.

Capital investments have included the installation of advanced medical equipment such as the Medtronic Mazor Stealth cranial navigation system and surgical microscope in Jersey City; new sterilizers and dialysis equipment in Hoboken; Intuitive Da Vinci robotic surgical systems, spinal navigation with O-Arm technology, Stryker Mako orthopedic robots, upgraded Cath Labs and dialysis equipment in Bayonne; along with critical infrastructure repairs systemwide.

Hudson Regional Health is also expanding its academic role. While Hoboken and Jersey City hospitals already serve as university-affiliated teaching hospitals, Secaucus and Bayonne are on track to achieve this status soon.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly named Bayonne University Hospital will take place on September 15th at 11 am at 29 E 29th St., Bayonne. State and local officials are expected to attend alongside representatives from U.S. Congressman Menendez’s office.

“Our vision for Hudson Regional Health has always been centered around elevating care,” said Yan Moshe, Chairman of Hudson Regional Health. “These new upgrades reflect our mission to deliver the latest clinical technologies and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care in every hospital we operate.”

“Our goal is to provide patients in every corner of Hudson County with access to modern, sophisticated, and compassionate care—right in their own communities,” said Dr. Nizar Kifaieh, President and CEO of Hudson Regional Health. “This network-wide transformation brings advanced medical services, new technology, and elevated facilities to our hospitals, and we’re just getting started.”

“Hudson County residents deserve access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, and I’m committed to partnering with Hudson Regional Health to make that a reality,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “These new investments will help ensure that we’re meeting the healthcare needs of our communities and modernizing our healthcare infrastructure to serve everyone in Hudson County. I’m grateful to Hudson Regional Health for their efforts and look forward to the work ahead.”

Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive added: “Hudson Regianl Health’s commitment to teaching, investment, and technology is exactly what Hudson County needs to meet the future of healthcare head-on.”

“The City of Bayonne welcomes the future enhancements planned for the newly renamed Bayonne University Hospital,” said Mayor Jimmy Davis. “As our community continues to grow so does the need for high-quality accessible medical care. We are encouraged by Hudson Regional Health’s commitment and look forward to seeing a strong partnership with Bayonne and communities throughout Hudson County.”

“Hudson Regional Health’s investment in Hoboken represents a tremendous advancement in local care,” said Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla. “Our residents deserve access to modern facilities forward-thinking healthcare, and top-level professionals —and Hudson Regional Health is delivering just that.”

“Jersey City is proud to be part of a healthcare network that’s transforming the way care is delivered,” said Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop.“From stroke services torobotic surgery,HudsonRegionalHealthis bringingthe innovationand expertiseourcommunityneeds tot thrive.”
