The New Jersey City University men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Rick McCorkle Invite hosted by The College of New Jersey, with several athletes achieving personal bests and a national ranking, according to an April 24 announcement.

The event highlighted strong performances from the Gothic Knights, including Reyanna Henderson who finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.42 seconds and secured first place in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 25.04 seconds. This result places Henderson at number 50 nationally in Division III for the event.

Other notable performances included Raven Orange placing fifth in the 100 meters with a personal best of 12.59 seconds, while Kyanah-Belle Jean-Louis achieved personal records in both sprints, finishing fourteenth in the 100 meters (13.63) and twenty-eighth in the 200 meters (28.31). Natalie Lozano also posted personal bests, finishing twentieth in the 100 meters (14.55) and thirty-ninth in the 200 meters (31.34). Dyanne Pelaez set new marks as well, placing twenty-first in the 100 meters (16.09) and fortieth in the 200 meters (34.33).

In field events, Hailey Beck led NJCU’s javelin competitors by finishing nineteenth with a throw of 23.15 meters; Izabella Luna set her own record at sixteen point fifty-seven meters for twenty-first place; Tehana Savory placed twenty-second at fifteen point two zero meters.

Tonna Ogina represented NJCU at another major meet—the Penn Relays—where she finished thirty-second overall in high jump by clearing one point sixty meters.

Broader participation saw Isaiah Ramirez take fourth place among men’s competitors in the four-hundred meter race with a time just under fifty seconds; Kameron McGainey posted his fastest two-hundred meter time yet; Goncalo Carvalho and Jeremiah Saunders competed strongly over eight hundred meters; Sirell Clark threw nearly twenty-nine meters for discus.
